Job Summary

  • Prepares, presents, and serves meals while ensuring food quality and overall presentation.
  • Important Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prep fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding them.
  • Transport pans, kettles, and food trays to and from workstations, the stove, and the refrigerator following safety standards.
  • Wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures should be followed when storing food in designated areas.
  • Set aside items for daily purchases.
  • General cleaning duties include removing trash and garbage to designated areas.
  • To ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control, use approved food recipes and production standards. Notify cooks if food temperatures fall outside of acceptable ranges.
  • Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner by following the service steps outlined.
  • Resolves customer concerns and forwards pertinent information to the supervisor.
  • Ensure that all sanitation and safety requirements are met.
  • Serve customers in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.

Qualifications:

  • Here’s how you’ll excel in the role:
  • Level 1 FoodSafe certification.
  • Knowledge of how to use a cash register is advantageous.
  • To be able to manage a heavy workload, you must have strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting as needed.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Previous food service experience in a hospital, hotel, restaurant, or fast food restaurant is considered advantageous.
  • Physical fitness to perform the duties of the position.
