Position Summary
Jobs include butchering animals, removing viscera and other undesirable bits from carcasses, and chopping meat for further processing. Numerous departments, including the Cut and Kill areas, have openings. Starting Salary
- $16.00 – $22.70 /hour
- Production Reward/bonus of up to $1.00/hour
- Attendance Reward/bonus of up to $1.00/hour
- Further increases as per the Collective Agreement

Responsibilities
- Take part in a cooperative effort to process hogs to provide fresh and frozen food.
- Assist in a variety of activities within the designated department
- Maintain production line efficiency
- The majority of jobs on the dressing, cutting, packaging, and barn floors involve assembly lines.
- The use of knives and other tools will be necessary. needed abilities:
- Post-secondary education is valued and considered an asset for graduates of high school.
- Experience working in an industrial setting or a manufacturing plant for at least two years as a butcher or meat cutter
- Being able to work in a variety of climates, from cool to warm, and from wet to dry
- The capacity to stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive physical duties
- An asset is having knowledge of and commitment to good manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge in food manufacturing in a busy setting.
- Being at ease in a unionized, multicultural environment
- Must be dedicated to using safe work procedures
- Interpersonal and communication skills must be strong, and ongoing improvement must be a priority.
- Disassemble the hog product using knives and other tools for processing.
- Ensure that all jobs are completed using safe and hygienic methods in accordance with Company regulations.
