The UdeM exemption scholarship program is intended to assist international applicants with their academic endeavours. They will be entitled to a reduction in the tuition fees typically assessed to international students beginning in the fall of 2020. For the winter 2023, summer 2023, fall 2023, and winter 2024 periods, scholarships will still be awarded.

Aim and Benefits of the University of Montreal Scholarship Program
Undergraduate:
- Level A: $12,951.76 annually (two sessions, or 30 credits), $6,475.88 per session, or $431.73 per credit
- Level B: $3,086.30 per session (15 credits) or $205.75 per credit, or $6,172.60 per year (2 sessions, equal to 30 credits).
- Level C: $2,159.15 per year (2 sessions), which equates to 30 credits, or $1,079.57 every session, which is equivalent to 15 credits, or $71.97 per credit
Masters:
- Non-research: $10,046.35 annually (3 sessions, equal to 45 credits), or $3,348.78 every session (15 credits), or $223.25 per credit
- $10,169.68 (3 sessions, or 45 credits) every year for research, or $3,389.89 (15 credits) per session, or $225.99 per credit
PhD:
- $21,593.35 annually (3 sessions, equal to 45 credits), $7,197.78 each session, equal to 15 credits, or $479.85 each credit
Necessities for University of Montreal Scholarship Program Qualification
- Has to be an international student.
- You need a study permit and can’t be a citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
- For the duration of their studies at the Université de Montréal, applicants must be engaged full-time in a study program.

- Apply for admission: “Compass” is an interactive checklist that will walk you through the necessary steps to start your application and admissions process off right. - Follow up on your file to get an admissions offer: You will get your “Student Centre” access codes a few days after submitting your admissions application. You can check the status of your application and download your letter of acceptance on this site.
- Accept the admissions offer to begin the assessment: Applying for an UdeM Exemption Scholarship is optional. To ascertain their eligibility and the amount of their exemption scholarship, new candidates’ files will be reviewed.
- Obtain the award notification and payment: The Université de Montréal will swiftly email you after receiving your admissions offer to let you know how much of a scholarship you are eligible for. This document should be printed and stored safely. For reference in the future, it will be helpful.
